CALDWELL, Albert Frederick ‘Fred’ – Passed away peacefully on August 19, 2015 at the Rapelje Lodge in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Barnucz). Loving father of Anne Thorne (Ken) and John Wilkes (Barb). He will be missed by his grandchildren Jonathan Piper (Tressie), Tara Thorne-Koski (Michael) and by his great grandchildren Liam, Aiden, Lily & Percy. Dear brother of Lois Buchner (John) & Lynda Semley (David). Predeceased by his parents Phylis & Albert, by his step mother Stella, and by his sister Shirley Benner.

Edward (Ted) Ernest Cameron – It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward (Ted) Ernest Cameron at Parkwood Hospital on June 14th in his 86th year. Cherished husband of Pat for close to 63 years, loving father of Deborah (Jeff Gourlay), Edward and Patricia, and proud “Poppa” of Crystal, Cameron, Chloe and Morgan. He will be missed by his sister Betty, brothers Fred (Annie) & Franklin (Joanne), his Uncle Norman along with many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents (Frank & Florence), brother John and sisters Lillian (Goss) and Florence (Harvey). He served in the RCNR for a short time before joining the RCAF from which he retired after 25 yrs of dedicated service as a heavy equipment operator. He must have truly enjoyed this line of work as he spent the next 20 yrs driving bus for the LTC. After retiring for good he kept very busy; gardening, building birdhouses, travelling, walking his dog Cole, as well as, bingo & darts at the Duchess of Kent Legion, where he was a member for 42 yrs. He held his private pilot’s licence for many years and loved to fly. As a member of the Harvard Association in Tillsonburg he was able to hitch a ride in both a ‘Harvard’ and a ‘Tiger Moth’. He also loved to sing & dance and share his one-of-a-kind sense of humour with everyone. The family would like to thank the PCU staff for their excellent care and compassion during his stay in the unit. A very special thank you goes out to all of the neighbours who have helped and continue to help at this very difficult time. A Legion service was held at 7pm on June 19th. Interment is at the Pondmills Cemetery, Pondmills Rd. at Southdale. Charitable donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood Hospital.

CARD, Vernon A. – At London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, London on Sunday, January 6, 2013, Vernon A. Card of Dorchester in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Barbara (Yeo) Card. Loving father of Roderick (wife Heather) of Elmira, Maureen Robinson (husband David) of Strathroy and Keith of Toronto. Dear grandfather of Sarah, Stephen, Grant and Janice. Survived by a sister Alice Bertha Trudeau of London and by sisters-in-law Dorothy Card of Sarnia and Lauraine Card of London. Predeceased by brothers Paul and Claude Card. Mr. Card was employed at London Transit for 29 years and was an active member of the Dorchester Community Church. Memorial contributions to the Dorchester Community Church would be appreciated.
CARTWRIGHT, George Percival
Passed away at peace in his home in London, Ontario on September 7th at the age of 77. His family was at his side. He leaves behind loving partner, Leeann, special friend, Meredith and is survived by many siblings, sons, daughters, step-children, foster children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, loved ones, friends and his loyal canine friends Jack and “Little Lil”. Siblings: Muriel (David), Kenneth (Mary), Ethel (Charles), Gerrald (Anne), Nancy (John D.), Audrey (Gordon), Mildred (Glen), Edward (Marj), Ruthie (Ralph); Children: Bill, Duilah (Randy), Yvonne (Neil), Brent (Judy), Shane (Monica), Terry (Christie), George (Leeanne); Step-children: Jon, Chris, Kate; Foster children: Eric, Lisa, Lori; Grandchildren: Shondell (Cyril), Cameron (Tess), Rebecca, Blaire, Meagan, Lauren, Andrew, Grant, Matthew, Michelle, Ryan, Matt, Samuel, and Baby Cartwright; Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Blake, Preston, Titian, Tanner. George was born in Cape Breton on October 28, 1935, before going on to lead a life of many professions. Curious, ambivalent, tender and kind, George was a charitable man who touched many. He was a mentor and a teacher, and he continues to inspire all his loved ones with the knowledge and skill set he earned over his long and fruitful life. The Cartwrights and the Clarkes wish to thank the many kind healthcare professionals who helped him along his journey. There was a celebration of George’s life at his home in London on Saturday, September 14th. His one wish was to have a joyous celebration. All were welcomed.
COOK, Brian Richard – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Victoria Hospital, London, Brian Richard Cook in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Joyce Cook. Cherished father of Tanya (Andrew) Hubbard, Nathan (Valerie) Cook and Shanna (Matthew) Buis. Proud grampie of Caleb Cook, Raelyn Hubbard and Corran Buis. Loving brother of Charlene (Larry) Morse and brother-in-law to Faye (Robert) Slatter. Predeceased by his parents Art and Reta Cook and by his brother Dennis Cook. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and their families.
